Mammootty is an actor who blends into the character so well that the character is kept alive in our memories long after we have seen the movie. Eagerly waiting to see yet another memorable character where mammootty plays a tamil laborer in Kerala struggling to live or rather exist.
Hope that each one of us will have a more humane approach to the workers who come from tamil nadu to Kerala in search of work(whom we easily categorise as pandis) and work hard to survive . They too have a dream.....they too are like us.

This is one beautiful song from the bollywood movie "Fanaa". (But through out the song I was wondering if bollywood stars are so thick skinned? Why aren't they wearing any jackets in the snow?)
It's good to see an extremely talented actress coming back after her marriage/baby sitting to give yet another hit movie. Guess mallu heroines should get some inspiration and so should their hubbies:))

"Woh Lamhe" is supposed to be based on the love relationship of Mahesh Bhatt and yesteryear bollywood actress Parveen Babi who had a solitary, isolated demise. The movie is intense and hits hard on to our face. Kangana and Shiny Ahuja have done a good job in the lead roles. The suffocation in an artificial life....the joy in little, love filled true moments of life is all that we treasure in our lives...guess that sums up the essence of the movie.. watch and post your comment!!

This is a beautiful song from Nelly Furtado....that makes you hum ..."I'm like a bird....I dunno where my soul is...I dunno where my home is.." long after you have heard it. The song touches the heart and hence lingers...
The video too is wonderful!! Enjoy this song...and see if you too are humming this song all day long..

| The success of `Classmates' is that its story appeals to all sections of the kerala audience and vividly evokes fond bitter-sweet memories of college days. | |

With The Namesake, Nair picks up a theme that tries a synthesis of the new world (the adopted country) with the old world (the native home) instead of either patronizing the world of nostalgia of older immigrants or portraying the cultural confusion of the younger generation.
Set in 1970s Calcutta and 1990s New York, The Namesake tells the story of an immigrant Bengali family-the Gangulys-which tries to "blend the new world with their old culture."
While parents Ashoke (Irrfan Khan) and Ashima (Tabu) long for the family and culture that had enveloped them in India, their son Gogol (Kal Penn) is torn between finding his own unique identity and his heritage.
"The Namesake is the story of the sacrifices our parents made for their children. It is a deep human way of telling the story of millions of us who left one home for another, who have known what it means to combine the old with the new," says Nair.
